Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report follows: —At "Wariganui, on 4th in,st., we yarded 700 sheep and 400 cattle. The demanci all round, especially for cattle, was slack compared with recent- sales. At Waver Icy, oil 6th inst., we had a small yarding of sheep. A good quantity of cattle in excess of advertised numbers caine forward. There was good competition for female classes of cattle, but steers were easier. Quotations: —Wanganui—Good young ewes with 100 per cent, lambs, 19s 3d; mixed hoggets, lis; 3 to 4-yr steers, £4 8s 6d'to £5; 2 to 2-n-yr'steers, £3 to £3 lis; 15mos steers, £2; fat heifers, £4 3s; forward empty heifers, £3 6s; 18-mos heifers, 38«; cows and calves, £3; mixed weaners, poor condition, 16s 6d.
