THE KENNEL CLUB.

WELLINGTON. October 16.

The annual meeting of the New Zea. land Kennel Club was held in Wellington yesterday. The balance, sheet showed a credit balance of £32. Officers were elected as follows:—President, MrPaul Hunter (Porangahau); Executive Committee, Messrs W. Ryan (Auckland), A. S. Menzies (Dunedin), W. Jf. O'Donnell. (Manawatu), W. Janson (Wellington>; treasurer, Mr W. Janeon; auditor, Mr C. J. Salter; secretary, Mr- 11. Dovey. It was resolved that in view of the confusion existing as to what', constitutes a challenge class, the class be denned simply as tho first prize-winner in every_ class there, to be judged .again in the ring after the ordinary claes competitions; and a challenge certificate to be issued by the New Zealand Kennel Club for any challenge won. It. was also decided to recommend that a challenge clas9 of each breed be- allotted each year.

At the club's annual show : the challenge competitions resulted:—Bulldogs, Mr A. E. . Nicholls' (Christchurch) imported dog Bromley Smasher, 1; Mr F. E. Watson's (Palmorston North) Greenstone, 2; Mr C. E. Cutis' Sheffield Pybus 3; Mr E. T. Taylor's Kilbirnie Con'queror, v.h.c. Bull bitches, Mr G. Louden's Sheffield Polly, 1; Mr R. Menzies' Glenledi Beauty, 2; Mr C. Reynolds' Kathleen Mavourneen, 3; Mr . F.- , E. Watson's 'Wharekoki Doss, v.h.c. Black pug dogs, Mr J. H. White's Black Boy. 1; bitches, Mr J. H. White's Zclta of Barren Shaldt, 1.
