(Feom Our Own Corresfgxdent.) OTAKI,' Friday. Tho annual meeting of the Men's Hockey Club will be' held on Monday, and that of the ladies on Thursday. So far very little interest is being displayed. Hartmann and St. George have- won the men's doubles in tho tournament match of the local Tennis Club. Kirk and M. Simcox fight out for tho singles, and Hartmann and Mrs Powles play M. Simcox and Miss Elder in tho final of tho combined doubles. In every instance the scratch players' have proved victorious.
The Ngatiawa Rifle Club (Rikiorangi) opened on Wednesday, when Mr Field, M.P., officiated at the opening ceremony. . He referred to the lack of support offered rifle clubs by the Government, and commended the club for taking' tho step they had taken. During tho past week Mr Cole, 01 Manakau. has sold his farm to Mr G. Bovan, while Mrs Smith has disposed of her land to Mr Byron Brown. Mr A. Mitchell has also decided to relinquish farming business. The points prizes at the recent show resulted: —Pot plants, Mrs Byron Brown; cut blooms, Mr Frank Penn; fruit, Mr Simcox; vegetables, Mr Kilmistor; decorations. Mrs C. Noes; domestic, Mrs Bennett; points prizes for the wholo show, Mr Frank Penn. In cut blooms, Mr Frank Mason, of Palmorston was third in the points prize with 14 points.
