CARTER, THE MAGICIAN.

In a theatrical sense, Palmerston has had many memorable experiences. Lyric and dramatic artiste of high European and American reputations have made their bow to the public from the local stage, but now comes a performer who in the world of magio to-day stands on the highest pinnacle. Some few weeks ago " Carter " latTded in Australia direct from America, and has visited the principal cities of the Commonwealth and New Zealand in rapid succession. Heis now concluding a brilliantly successful tour, and sails for Sydney on Friday next to catch the boat there for India, -where he opens his Eastern tour in about, three weeks' time. Prior to Carter s departure, his management have arranged., for ono appearance of the master •■•magn. cian in the Opera House here next Thursday evening. On that date he will introduce his mysterious entertainment in conjunction with Miss Abigail Price. This lady's psychic seances have « nt * r_ tained people in all parts of the world, and great interest should be attached to her appearance here. Carter is assisted in his illusions by Miss Corrinne Carter, together with a combination of lady and,gentleman artists. He carries an immense amount of paraphernalia, and his stage -settings are said to be works of art. The box plan opens at Park's on Monday morning, and as Carter's visit is already a topic ot interest, intending patrons would be wise to secure seats early.
