TARANAKI RACES. Per Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, March 26. The second day of the Taranaki Autumn Meeting was held in fine weather. Results: — • Pukotori Hack Hurdles.—lmmolation 1, Bushranger 2, Speciosa 3. Also started : Black Squall, Mosken, and Star Rose. Won by five lengths. Black Squall fell. Time, 2min 51sec. Grandstand Handicap.—Moriarty 1, Waihuku 2, Kareroa 3. Also started: St. Maria, Supplement, and Pylades. Won by half a fength. Time, Imin 2 2-5 Wharoppa Hack.—lnaha 1, Nukutihi 2, Silver Lead 3. x\lso started: Billow, Hydraulic, C'rucinella, Burton, Mistress. Won all the way by two lengths. Time, Imin 17sec. Paul Memorial Handicap.—Signor 1, Scotty 2, Daisy Paul 3. Also started: Mahuta, Silver Shell, and Starirm. Mahuta and Daisy Paul led to the distance, where Scotty came up fast, followed by Signor. An "all-out" finish resulted in Signor winning by a neck. Time, Imin 58 2-ssce. Welter Handicap.—Carissima 1, Irish Rifle 2, Gleam 3. Also started : Lo Beau, Climax, Wee Trinket, Showman, and Iseult. Won by a short neck. Time, Imin 32scc.
Kawau Hack.—Somali 1, Pcarlio 2, Tho Dane 3. Also started: Mallet,' Lantern, Kilmarnock. Won by half a length. Timo, Imin 45sec. Farewell Handicap.—Golden Eagle 1, Silver Load 2, Dear Dolly 3. Also started: Miss Vera. Won easily. Time, Imin 15 2-ssec. Final Hack Flutter.—Nicotine 1, Eastmere 2, Grizzle 3. Also started: Muskerado, Vurtis, Roselake, Eclogue, Astraea, and Timothy. Won by a length. Time, Imin 4sec. MASTERTON RACES. MASTERTON, March 26. Tho Masterton races opened to-day. Rain fell most of the time, and the course was very heavy. Results : — Hack Hurdles, 1£ miles.—Reservoir 10.7, 1; Snip 2, Royal Blue 3. Also ran: Tilson. Time. 3min 29 2-ssec. Maiden Hack, 5 furlongs.—Kelso 8.11, 1; Conqueror 2. Vinco 3. Also started: Tainui, Sandstone, Knight Commander, Sealer, Hinerangi, Iranui, Epsom Downs, Roosevelt, and Campaign. Time, Imin β^sec. Masterton Hack, 1 mile.—Wailethe 7.13, 1; Gaelic 2, Strathcona 3.
