BBUNNYTHORPE.

Oub Own Corhespondent.) The Methodist Sunday School continued its Anniversary on Wednesday, 25th March, with a tea and public meeting. In the afternoon tea was provided for the children, and at six o'clock the adults sat down to heavily laden tables, the attendance on both occasions being very large. Thanks are due to the following-ladies who presided:—Mesdames Print, Dixon, Procter, Andrew (2), Arnold, Clevely, Thompson, Gore, and Miss Lassen. After the tea a public meeting was held, which was presided over by Mr G. H. Bennett, of Palmerston North. In his opening remarks Mr Bennett expressed deep regret for the absence of Mr J. Dixon, Superintendent of the Sunday School, caused bv ill-health. Mr H. Dixon then read the report and balance sheet, which showed that the school had sustained many losses by settlers removing from the district, one in particular, Mr W. Masters. It also showed that there was an attendance of 92, and that the income for the year amounted to £15 17s 6d, and the expenditure £16 18s 7d, leaving a debit of 19s Id. The amount collected during this anniversary eclipsed all other gatherings, on this occasion being £10 7s 3d, which will leave a good balance to start the year with. Very interesting addresses were given by the Rev. Beecroft, of Feildmg, President of the Methodist. Conference, and Revs. Beggs and Carr, of Palmerston North. Solos and duets were sung by Mrs Masters, Misses Baker, Procter, Eglinton, and Print, and Mr E. CleYely. .The choir was under the leadership of Mr W. Eglinton, ,who deserves great praise" for the way he had trained the children. The latter Tendered some beautiful anthems during the evening. Mr Arnold moved a vote of thanks to all who had helped to make tho anniversary a success, and thus ended a most successful gathering. Miss Mabel Dixon ably presided at the organ.
