GROUNDS
No time is being lost by tf&e Department in selecting the site*at the Show Grounds on which the Dairy School is to be built. Mr W. M. Singleton, who is- to have charge of the school, arrived in town on Tuesday night, and stayed at the Empire Hotel. Yesterday morning at 10 o clock he proceeded "to the ground and was met by Mr J. M. Johnston, Major Dunk and Mr J. C. Lane, secretary of the A. and P. Association, and taken over the grounds A careful inspection was made, and a site selected with a frontage on to Cuba Street, about thirty yards below the A. and P. Association's offices. The site will comprise from half to threequarters "of an acre, and is now being surveyed by Mr Wylde and his assist-, A two-storey brick building, about 80ft by 100 ft, is to be erected, and will be situated some 40ft back from the footpath in order that suitable grounds may be laid out in front. The gates, which are in front of the site selected, will be removed to a position between the school and the A. and P. Association's offices.
Mr Singleton left for Wellington again yesterday afternoon.
