Pason, Weet Australian Agenf-General, read a paper before the Society of Arts on the mineral sources of Westralia. He explained that the declining yield was atributable to the general slump in mining. There was not tho slightest cause for anxiety as to the future of tho industry. He dwelt on the immense extent of untouched mineral country. Ho justified the employment of white labour in the Australian mines on political, economic, and social grounds.
