THE STOCK MARKETS

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: —There was a full yarding of sheep at Levin, of which wo sold 2400 under the hammer, only one line of lambs being passed. Prices ruled as follows : —Fat ewes (prime quality) 14s 9d, mixed ewes and wethers 12s 3d, two-tooth wethers 10s Id to lis 7d, two-tooth ewes (sirfall) 8s lOd, breeding ewes 8s 6d to lis 3d, cull ewe* 3s 6d to 6s 2d, woolly lambs 7s 4d to 8s Id, shorn 4s to 5s 6d, good 7s 2d to 7s lid, two-and-a-half-year Hereford steers £3 10s, three-year steers £4 15s, aged cows to £1. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: —At Feilding we had an extra yarding of sheep. Very few cattle put in an appearance. There was a good demand for young breeding ewes and good lambs. Old-aged ewes were hard to quit. There was a fair attendance, and wo quitted nearly the whole of our entry.
