The weather promised well early this morning for the swimming . and rowing championships, but towards 11 o'clock a heavy squall came over, though it cleared after a time. Results: — Maiden Sculls.—Chirstiansen (Union, Wanganui) 1, Robertson (Star) 2, Dustin (Gisborne) 3. Won by a length and a half. Time, Bmin 20sec. Light-woight Maiden Fours. —Napier 1, Gisborne 2, North Shore 3. Won by three lengths. Maiden Double Sculls.—Wellington 1. Union (Napier) 2, Napier 3. Won by four lengths. Time, 7min 7 2-ssec. Maidet Fours.—Napier 1, Canterbury 2, Star 3. Won by three-qusrtcrs of a length. Champion Sculls.—Whelch (Akaroß. 1, McDonald (Wanganui) 2, Poll ('Napier) 3. Also started: Green (Wanganui), Stoke (Aramoho), Fell (Siar). Won b/ twenty lengths. 220 yds Swimming Championship — Champion 1, J. Freyberg 2, Dodge 3. Won by four yards. Time. 2min 30sec.
Youths' Fours.—Star 1, Union (Wanganui) 2, Napier 3. Won by half a length. Champion 'Fours.—No. 1 Blenheim 1, Waitemata 2. Clifton 3. A splendid race. Won by three lengths. Time, llmin 47 sec.
