He states that while in America- he learned from Senator McLaughlin that there was a disposition on the part of the United States Senate to subsidise a twenty-knot line of steamers between San Francisco and Australia. ADELAIDE, March £3. With a view to inducing people to save their; pennies, the Savings Bank is providing home savings bank boxes, capable of holding several pounds' woriu of coppers. The box will be locked ind the key retained by the bank till it is returned.
