A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the general committee of the above was continued after we went to press yesterday. Messrs Cohen, Uunk, J. M. Johnston, S. \V. lAixiorcl, Mcriardy, Pratt, Pringlc, and the President, ex officio, were uppointed members of the Finance Committee. After appointing numerous sub-com-mittees for the several divisions of stock, the committee considered the recommendations from the annual general meeting of members as follows: —Members' tickets good tor pass at gates and stands at both shows; two ladies' tickets to admit any day of Dairy Show, single admission ; Spring Show, two ladies' tickets, single admission, each day of show at gates, and to authorise the printing and issue •of members' and ladies' tickets. it was decided, on Mr Johnston s motion, seconded by Mr Cohen, that the members' tickets for the Spring Show be issued subject to admission to the front gates, clipping at stands and pass; two ladies' tickets bo issued to each member for one admission at the front gates each day, to include admission to the grandstands and passes. Privileges for the Dairy Show to be the same as at the 1907 show. Mr Balsillie considered that passes should bo issued, and he moved to that effect, but the motion was lost. The recommendation from the annual meeting that Mr Robert Stevens be an honorary life member was adopted unanimously. The proposition will go to the next general meeting for confirmation. ' Some discussion took place on the allocation of prize money for the Spring Show, 1908. Mr Jacob moved that the money be allocated on the basis of last year. Mr Lancaster said that if the proposal included the sliding scale now in force, ho was distinctly opposed to it, and ho referred to the great discontent among exhibitors as to the withdrawal and reduction of prize money. Mr McKonzie said that the discontent was very great among pig and cattle exhibitors. Mr Jacob said that the scale had been in operation for years among the sheep classes, and no complaints had been made. Eventually it was decided that the Schedule Committee bo recommended to draw up the allocations on the basis of 1907, and refer same to the Finance Committee before next meeting, the Schedule Committee being recommended to eliminate the sliding scale.
