Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 14. The bread trade is considerably upset at present owing to the advent of a new firm which is said to be underselling the Master Bakers' Association. It appears that the new firm, which commenced operations only a few days ago, is supplying the trade at sjd and private customers at 6d per loaf, as against 63d and 7d charged by the Association. In order to meet this competition members of the Association are, it is understood, being 'tacitly allowed fy> break Ithe tariff when necessary to retain old customers. A meeting of the Association has been called to consider the matter, and to decide as to the advisability of lowering prices all along the line in order to meet with the cutting. BLENHEIM, March 13. The Bakers of Blenheim have unanimously decided to adopt the strbt cash system, on the lines followed at Palmerston North.
