GARDEN FETE.
AT MR J. STRANG'S GROUNDS,
ON WEDNESDAY.
The garden fete at Hokowhitu .promises to be of a most cosmopolitan character. Everybody is talking of it, and it looks as though everybody will be there. The town will be deserted for the shady nooks and the sweet surprises of the lake-bordered property, provided that the present fine but hot weather continues. Amongst the attractions will be oheap photography, several experts having arranged to be in attendance with their cameras. The best site for viewing the aquatic sports will be from the foreshore of Mr H. N. Watson's property, which he has very kindly ar-. ranged to place at the disposal of the fete committee. Mr Behdall will have his fleet of boate ready to take passengers to the adjoining property at about half-past three- The member for Palmerston, Mr W. T. Wood,; has kindly, consented to open the feter and this ceremony will be at. about 3.15. The Palmerston North Band will be in attendance and discourse sweet music from three o'clock till the fete closes at 10 p.m. '
