RONGONEA ATHLETIC CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Rortgotea Atheltic Club «was held in the Coronation Hall 6n Saturday night. Mr Penny occupied the chair./ REPORT. The secretary reported that the income from gate money and cash donated during the past year was £25 behind that of the previous year, but still they were in a sound financial condition, and there was no reason why the next sports meeting should not be equally successful if not more so than any of the previous ones. BALANCE-SHEET. The balance-sheet showed that they started the year with a credit balance of £39 19s Bd, the total receipts being £156 9s 2d, of which £46 had been received in nominations and acceptances, £24 lis in gate money, and £9 9s from the proceeds of, a cohcert. The total expenditure for the year amounted to £148 14s 3d, of which £76 17s 6d had been paid .away 'in prize money, and £{) 8s 6d for trophies. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Air J. Stevens, M.P.; president, Mr J. Jarvis; vice-presidents, Messrs C. 'Hopping, G. Lazenby, J. Lumsden, S. Hammond, H. Jarvis, A. G. Hickford, J. Penny; treasurer, Mr J. Penny; auditor, Mr C. H. Bowater; starter, Mr J. Whisker; general committee, Messrs A. G. Hickford, S. Paul, F. Landers, H. Jarvis, E. Ransom, R. Major, R. Aymesbury, E. Jarvis, W. Davis, H. Ransom, J. Aymesbury, W. Bayliss,' .D. Humphries, A. Burgess, E. Pratt, F. Turner, W. Foster, J. Whisker, H. Ehrhorn, J. Penny, and S. Rodgers; handicapper, Mr J. Collingwood;,programme committee, Messrs A. Burgess, J. Whisker, E. Jarvis, J. Penny, E. K. Ransom. GENERAL. It was decided to appoint the ground committee from the general committee: at a later date. Resolved —That the fixing of the date of the next spoijts meeting be left to the general committee. , That a dance be held on the night of the sports. That the next general committee meeting be held on the 13th of December. That Messrs S. Paul, W. Davis, A. Burgess, J. Whisker, R. McClymont, and E. Jarvis be appointed as canvassers for the town and country. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
