At the wool sales the flecce ijortious of the Otaria and Wairau clips brought 9sd and respectively. There was a good sale at full late rates for occasional lots in sellers' favour, especially faulties. There have been catalogued to date 44,250 bales, sold 38.036 bales. Copper, spot £63 12s 6d, three months £63; tin, spot £134 ss, three raonthß £136; antimbny, £9. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The High Commissioner's cable is as follows: — LONDON, November 30. The mutton market is quiet but steady and there is a good demand for primo quality. River Plate mutton is in large supply, being strongly pushed for sale at 3gd. Canterbury brand, 3gd, North Island 3fd. The lamb market is quiet. Stocks on hand are light. High prices arc asked for lamb, restricting business, and there is a limited demand owing to the lateness of the season. Canterbury lamb s!d, other than Canterbury s|d. The beef market is steady, with moderate demand, especially for forequarters. which are 2|d, hindquarters average 3ad. \
The butter market is very firm, with good demand and no immediate change in prices anticipated. Choicest New Zealand brands 118s, Argentine 118s, Australian 116s, Siberian llGs, and Danish 123b. Unsalted butter is Is per cwt less than the above prices. The cheese market is slightly weaker, with less demand. Some holders are forcing sales, and buyers are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. Cheeso shipped by the Corinthic arrived in good condition, and is quoted at 60s. The hemp market is dull. Transac-. tions are light at last quotations. There is a better demand for hemp on spot. The cocksfoot seed market is quiet, and prospects are favourable, although buyers are not keen to do business.
