CARRENO.
Since the commencement of the winter musical season'much has been, said-and written concerning Madame Carreno, the celebrated pianist, who is visiting the colonies, under the direction of Herr Bonno Scherek. Judging from the reports published in tho Australian papers, Madame Carreno is something exceptional, and this is said to have been demonstrated in aii extraordinary fashion.; When the lady who lias been described by Hans , von Bulow as "tho most interesting pianist of the age" made her debut in Melbourne, there was 0 very large attendance at the Town Hall, and Madame was recalled timo after time. The pianist is reported to have com© up to the high anticipations formed regarding her playing, which is stated to have been ;i complete revelation. . Mr J. C. Norman, representing Herr Scherek, arrived, in Palmerston to-day and has arranged for a recital by Madame Carreno at the Opera, Houso on August Btli. 1
