BURGESSES' ROLL.

(Per Presa Association.) AUCKLAND. June 13. At a meeting of the Auckland Branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation the electoral roll for the city of Auckland came in for severe criticism. Mr Fletcher said it was well known that many persons' names appeared several times on the roll. Re moved —"That the Federation support Mr A. E. Glover, councillor, in his ndeavours to have a registrar of rolls appointed separate from the present position under which the Town Clerk compiles ths roil." Mr Gulliver (vice-president) stigmatised the present roll as "absolutely rotten." People's names wore entered four times, also people were walking about Queen Street to-day who were returned as "dead." Mr P. M. Mackay said he knew the names of men on the roll who bad been dead at least ten years. Mr Nerheny said the keynote of tlie whole thing, and the way to bring about reform was to have the Parliamentary roll for everything. (Applause.)
