This is the record of the pea-rifle for only two months in New South Wales as taken from the daily news- j papers by the Evening News, and it] must be admitted that the list is a formidable one:—March 13th—A man named Melville fatally shot at Coir s Harbour. April Ist—Accidents reported from Narrabi. One resident was shot in the chest while walking m the street, and Mrs Peacoke, a hospital patient, was struck by a bullet which came through a window. April 6th—James Mollison (13), Bathurst, shot in the leg whilst taking a rifle over a fence. April Bth—Marks, a youth, Mud gee, shot- by a companion. April 9th —Williams, a boy, Peak-mil,, shot in the shoulder. April 11th— Edward Mason (17), Molong, shot in the side. April 23—Hilton Bradford (15), Goulburn, injured in the foot. May 6th—Willie Stavert, a boy, shot in the breast, at a shooting gallery at Casino. May Sth—Miss Kinross, Raymond Terrace, shot through the fall of a rifle as she was dusting the room.
