THE CRUMPE MURDER.

He told tho police that ho had been in the, backwoods of Australia and was once' shot and left for dead. Ho was accustomed to live among men carrying revolvers. (Per .Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Arrangements have been made to tako evidence in Auckland to bo sent to London for the defence of John Crumpe, charged with the murder at Soutlisea. Three Auckland doctors, who are professionally acquainted with accused, are prepared to say that- Criimpa's condition forsome time before he left Auckland was such as to have justified him being placed under restraint.
