POULTRY MATTERS IN PALMERSTON.
An important decision was arrived at by the meeting of the North Island Poultry Association in Pal-inc-jston a<i Wednesday, when it .was resolved that no agricultural socictv be granted a permit to hold a poultry show during the months of June, July, and August. This decision is regarded by members of the Manawatu A. and P. Association as a direct tilt at that body, ft has been mentioned to us as a decidedly interesting and significant fact, that all the members of tiie committee of the Mamiwatu Poultry Association present at the meeting voted for the resolution. That is to say. they voted
to prevent ,tlie Manawatu A. and P. Association getting a permit to have a poultry section at its Winter Show, which, as is well known, always comes in June. The remarks of a promiuerit official of the A. and P .Association, quoted in another column, throw some light on tho probable future relations between the local Poultry Asociation and the A. and P .Association. In the meantime it will be sufficient to
emphasise what lie points out —that the hostility of the North Island Poultry Association will mean the banding together of A. and P. Associations for mutual protection. In such an event the outcome will be the survival of the fittest. The whole subject will be discussed at the next meeting of tin- A. and P. Association. In tin; meantime developments are being awaited with much interest by poultry men and others in the dnlrict.
