. a. ——^ j The Management Committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union met last evening. There were present:—Messrs Gibbons (in the chair), Manning, Warden, Payne, Manson, Freeman, and Firth. A letter was received from L. Skelly, asking for a temporary transfer to Marton.—lt was decided to inform him that if he could get a clearance from his club (Old Boys) no transfer would be necessary. W. Douglas (Feilding), and Low (Kia Toa), wrote asking for reconsideration of the disqualifications imposed on them at the last meeting of the Union. —The Committee decided that the matter could not; now be re-opened. REP. FIXTURES. The matter of rep. fixtures was then gone into at some length, the following dates being decided on :— Wairarapa, at Palmerston, on August Ist. Taranaki, at New Plymouth, on August 9th. Wanganui, at Wanganui, on August 11th. Hawke's Bay, at Napier, on August 25th. Wanganui, at Palmerston (return match), on September Ist. Wellington, at Palmerston. on September Bth. Otago, at Palmerston, on September 12th. Other rep. matches to be played in Palmerston this season will be those against Horowhenua and Rangitikei, while Manawatu will also meet the Bush Union at Woodville, Foxton at FoxtOn, and Horowhenua at Levin (return match) on dates yet to be arranged. SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The following are the grounds and j referees for next Saturday's games Sexioe. Old Boys v. Feilding, Showgrounds, Oval, Mr Foote. Kia Toa v. Palmerston, Showgrounds, No. 2 ground, Mr E. Nash. Junior. Old Boys v. Kia Toa, Sportsground, Mr Beamish. Palmerston v. Feilding, Sportsground, Mr Lyall. Thibd Class. Old Boys v. Kia Toa_, Showgrounds (at 1 30 p.m.), Mr Gascoigne. Feilding v. High School, at Feilding, Mr Ellott. Next Saturday afternoon, on the Showgrounds, the rep. hockey match, Wellington v. Manawatu, will be played at 1.30. The Union has therefore decided to fix the price of admission at Is up till 2.30 o'clock, after which the ordinary charge of 6d will be made to view the football at 3 o'clock.
