HOKITIKA, This Day. Mr T. Y. Seddon, M.H.R., was entertained by his ladies' committee yesterday at afternoon tea. There was a very large attendance of the public, including country representatives. Mr Joseph Mandl, an ex-Mayor, presided and during the afternoon the ladies presented the new member with a gold sovereign case as a souvenir of the occasion. WELLINGTON, This day. J. P. Evans was sentenced this morning to two years' imprisonment for theft at New Plymouth.
