Wool, Skin and Hide Sale.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:— At our last sale we offered a large quantity of sheepskins, hides, horsehair, tallow and 54 bales and 40 sacks wool. Buyers wero in good force and bidding was brisk. Prices realised for wool were excellent considering the quality. We quote :—Crossbred coarse yJd to 10d, medium 9d to 9£d, rough BAd to line crossbred 9"jd to ll£d. Lambs, coarse, seeay and inferior 8d to 9d, coarse free from seed up to 9.fd, pieces and bellies 4id to Bd, crutchings 6i|d to 7id. Sheepskins: Full woolJed crossbred to 9:^d, half woolled 8?d to 9d, broken and inferior pelted skins from 7M to Bfid, lambs 8d to 9|d per lb, green sheepskins from 4s 3d to 6s, lambs 4s 2d to 4s lid each. Horsehair from 3d to 2s 9d per lb. Tallow in tins from 17s 6d to 18s, in casks 21s 3d to 21s 9d per cwt. Hides sold well at prices on. a par with last sales. Ox and cow. sound s|d to damaged 3id to sd, calf sound 6d to 7Ad, damaged 2d to 5d per lb.
