1. Ox cheek stew and potatoes. 2. Eice pudding with currants. Recipes —1. Take a pound and a half of ox cheek and cut into neat pieces. Fry halt an anion in, dripping, and lightly brown the pieces of meat. Remove, and put in saucepan with some sliced carrot, and, if desired, more onion. Moisten with a little water or stock; season well, and simmer gently for two and a half hours. Serve with boiled potatoes. Cost, Bd. 2. Make a rice pudding with two eggs in the usual' way, but throw in a handful of washed and picked currants before baking. Cost, 4d.
