Wool, Skin, and Hide Sale.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held their nio • t.Jilv wool and skin sale yesterday, offering 123 lots in bales, bags, and odd lots of wool, about 2300 skins, 1000 hides, and odd lots of tallow and horsehair. A full gathering of buyers were present. Wool was at ruling rates. For pelts and skins competition was keen, and a considerable advance was made on ruling priccs. Competition was exceedingly keen for best hides, making up to Gd per lb; all other sorts were higher from jd to Id per lb. We quote :— Bright crossbred wool B=jd to 9d rough sorts 8d to Ski. Shropshire wool 9d to black do 6:,-d to 74-d, dead 7r}d to 7;] d, lockK ajd, pieces 5d to 6.} d, rough 4.\d to 4£d. Skins—Merino and half-bred 9ld, woolly pelts 4s to 4s lid, crossbred medium 9d, coarse Bid to 8?d, dead 6'.d to 7{,d, woolly pelts B.ld to BJd, bare pelts Is lid to 2s 4d, short pelts 3s 7d to 3s lOd, lambs B£d per lb, per piece 3s 7d to 4s 4d, salted pelts Is 7d to 4s. Horsehair Is 8d per lb; tallow, cask 19s 3d to 19s 6d cwt, tins 16s 9a. Heavy ox hides 40s, equal to 6d lb, medium 28s to 30s 6d, liglit 23s to 255, heavy cows 26s 6d, medium 21s 6d to 24s 6d, light 20s to 225, calfskins 3s to 4s 4d, yearlings 4s 6d to 9s.
