Imperial System of Dress Cutting.
♦ A function of intense interest to the ladies took place yesterday afternoon in the Municipal Hall, when Miss L. Roberts, the patentee of the Imperial System of Dress Cutting, publicly demonstrated the manner of its use before a large audience. The advantages to be gained by the application of the system were fluently and fully described so that at the close of the demonstration quite a large number of the ladies present intimated their intentions of becoming pupils. In the course of her address, Miss Roberts informed her hearers that her system had been adopted by several of the leading schools in this colony including St Francis Xavier's Ladies School, all convents in Timaru, Christchurch and Wellington, all technical schools in Auckland province, Taranaki (except Hawera) and Wanganui College. Miss Robin, late of C. Smith's staff, is the local representative and will be only too pleased to give all assistance and information to those interested. Classes are to be started next week in the Standard buildings (above the office of the _ Evening Standard) by Miss Robin.
