The work shown comprises exhibits from the local lechnical School aud the high and primary schools in the AVanganui educational district. It includes wooclearving, wood-work, modelling, brusJiwork, drawing, writing, cookery, dressmaking, needlework, painting, nature collections and aids to teaching. There are over 3000" exhibits and about 4000 children from the country schools are coming into town during the week by special railway excursions. The children from the back blocks are being billeted by the citizens of AVanganui
A very large number of children went away from Palmerston this morning for the purpose of visiting this exhibition. The teachers of the local town schools and also of one or two of the country schools had decided that all should make the visit on the same day instead of going separately as was at first proposed. The train left here at 9 o'clock, and the number of excursionists was so great that extra carriages had to be put on. The children were accompanied by the teachers, some members of the school committees, and a large number of parents. They will return by the evening train.
