Senator Plain testified before tbe insurance inquiry that he received while in control of the Republican election machinery at Albany, £2000 annually each from the Equitable, Mutual and New York Life Insurance Companies. The money was used for the election of office-holders friendly to the companies. LONDON, Nov. 24.
