Tho New Zealanders in England

"West of Scotland Defeated

The New Zealand football team defeated the West of Scotland by 22 to nil

Details of the Match.

(Received Nov. 23, 10.7 a.m.) LONDON, November 22.

Twenty thousand spectators witnessed the match against the West of Scotland at Glasgow. The turf was very soft.

In the first half the Zealanders had the advantage of the wind and pressed the home team from the start, McGregor securing a try within nine minutes of the kick-off. Wallace failed in the shot for the goal. The Scots then livened up and played brilliantly for 20 minutes, but failed to score. Smith next got a fine try fair between the posts, which Wallace converted. The score at half time was— New Zealand 8, West Scotland 0.

The brilliancy displayed by the home team in the first half was not maintained in the latter portion of the game, and they were outplayed and outpaced by the visitors. Roberts, Smith, Mynott, and Seeling obtained tries in quick succession, but only one—that secured by Mynott—was converted by Wallace. The game ended 22 to 0.
