SYDNEY, Nov. 22.
The motor reliability contest was inconclusive. Seven cars ran to the Blue Mountains and back (13S miles). Five gained full points, one lost three points and the others dropped out. In the run off to Melbourne Hobbs covered the distance in 5 hours 13mins. and averaged 30 miles an hour on the run to the mountains.
PERTH, This Day. One plagued sailor from the French, mail steamer is dead and another patient's case is hopeless. (Received November 28, at 9.50 a.m.) MELBOURNE. This day. A body from the La Bella has been washed ashore. It is unrecognisable. At the tennis championship meeting "Miss Powdrell (New Zealand) failed again to beat Miss Gyton (the Victorian champion) in the second match of the Lady's Championship of ■• Victoria. Scores : G— 4>. 6—2.
