. Thirty-two inert perished and 32 men were rescued, though severely burned, in a fire that occurred in Cr Nickol's lodging house in' Glasgow. The outbreak started on the fourth floor and spread to the attic whence a slater named Finlay helped three —a cripple, a blind man,-and a paralytic —throuya a window, along the roof, and down a ladder from the tower building. Seventeen others followed them in safety, but 15 were fouud afterwards incinerated in the attic and the rest on the fourth floor.
TOKIO, November 20,
Five hundred prisoners embarking at Nagasaki for repatriation began a mutiny, and Japanese constables, at the Uussian officers' instance, were placed aboard one of the transports on which Admiral Bozhdesfcvensky was a passenger. The Japanese torpedoers surrounded the transports.
SYDNEY, November 20,
"Work is proceeding as usual on the wharves. No labourers had offered themselves early this morning, but subsequently, afcer'holding a meeting, plenty were offering. If trouble arises it is probable there will be an over-night shift.
