Appeal Case.

The District Court was occupied this morning in hearing the appeal of A. G. Hiekford (Messrs Cooper and Moore) against the decision of Mr A. D. Thomson, S.M., in convicting the appellant of selling liquor without a license. Mr Harden appeared for the respondent, Sergt. Stagpoole. The ease was fully reported when heard in the lower Court but, briefly, appellant, who holds a wholesale license •at Eongotea, was adjudged guilty of having sold a bottle of whisky to one Ernest Harper, who purchased, on behalHof a syndicate of his matos. The evidence in support of the respondent's ease during the morning was practically the same as that adduced m the lower Court, the same witnesses being examined.
