Southland and North Island, none offering. Beef is nominal—Ox fores, quarters 2fd, hinds 3Jd. Eiver Plate.—Sheep, heavy 3d, light 3 3-16 d; beef, ox fores-'2§d, hinds 2 15-16 d. New Zealand hemp is dull. October —December shipments, £29. Hides are very firm. There is a small offering which sold at £d advance at nominal values. Queensland beef.—Heavy ox 6-i-d light 6 1-lGd, cow 6 l-16d, "New South Wales heavy ox s£d, light sfd, conoid. The leather market is very strong. First dressing sides, 15id.
