That Electioneering Dodge.
(To the Editor).
Sin, —Mr Walter goes to a very great deal of trouble to explain- that neither Mr Wood nor his committee knew anything about the "deed" question, but, in spite of his very excellent? "explanation" the great majority of; tie electors will receive it with a big grain of salt. But, in any case, what right has Mr Walter or anyone to criticise my right to express my opinion eyen> if I am connected, by marriage, with*Mr Hastings ? Who is Mr Walter,, anyhow ? There are people sufficiently rude to say he knows more about wool-skins than he does about local or general politics. —I am, etc.,
