Cricket.
Cricketers and all those interested In the great game and its welfare should bear in mind the meeting to be held at the Council Chambers to-night, -when the Mayor will make an effort to place the game on a healthy footing in Palmerston. It is and has always been somewhat difficult to account for the apathy shown in connection with cricket here during recent .years, especially in view of the very fine ground available. Cricket' in Palmerston for the past three or four years will not bear comparison with a few years previous, when there was not a good ground in the district. All lovers of the game, and they are legion, will hope to see the Mayor successful in his efforts to revive interest.
