At Palmerston on Thursday "we yarded 350 head,,of cattle and 2000 sheep. Bidding for cattle was somewhat dull, although several pens of good young cattle were keenly competed for. We disposed of practically ' the whole yarding however, prices being about the same as last week. There was a good demand for sheep and all lines sold well. Quotations :— Sheep—Mixed hoggets 14s 6d to 16s : 10d, ewe hoggets 16s 9d to 16s lid, wether hoggets 16s 6d to. 17s, store wethers 20s 2d,ewes in lamb 175.6 d. ♦Cattle-^Weaners (small) 8s to 13s, others 17s 6d. to 28s 6d, Shorthorn weaners 38s ■ yearling steers 335, yearling heifers" 30s 6d, 18-mos heifers 39s to £2, heifers in calf £2 11s, iB-mos steers £2 4s, springing heifers £4 7s 6d; ' springing cows £5 to £6 7s: cows in milk £5 to £6.
