Congregational Sunday School.

Anniversary Services.

The Congregational Sunday school concluded the celebration of its fifth anniversary last night with a wellattended public meeting in the church. The Rev. S. Baker presided. During the evening the annual report was read by Mr A. Roe, It showed that the roll now stood at 101, which was an increase of 18 for the year's work, and that there was also a staff of eleven teachers and officers. It was mentioned that the scholars had collected a sum of about £12 for the London Missionary Society, and had thereby qualified for 18 prize books presented by the society. The report showed that the-r-work had gone on during the year-ma most satisfactory manner and with excellent results.

At -suitable intervals a number of musical items were rendered by the scholars and friends, those contributing to the programme being:—Misses E. Stout, E. Eawlins and G. Burgess, trio; Ernest Baker, 'recitation ; Miss Martin, songjr Raymond Bryant, recitation ; and songs by Misses Burgess and Rawlins. Addresses were delivered by the pastor and the Rev. Hugh Beggs, and were listened to with close attention. It was mentioned by the former speaker that the new Sunday School building would be definitely opened for use in three weeks' time.

Prizes were then presented to the following v scholars: — Boys: senior George Stout, Allan Burgess, Harold Baker (special, presented by Mr G. Bennett); second, Gilbert Stout, Royden McDowall, and (specials, presented by the teacher) Hoyden McDowall and Ernest Baker; third, Raymond Stout, Raymond Bryant; fourth, John Bryant, Duncan Burgess. Girls: senior, May Toms, Hilda Toms, Eva Stout; second, Lily Hardy, Sybil Smith ; third, Irene Smith, May Peat; fourth, Elsie Alderson, Eileen McDowall. Infants—boys: Leslie Alderson, Guy Fowler, Willie De Luen ; girls : Jessie Burgess, Amy Hastic. A picture-book was also given to each scholar in the infants', class. The following won the prize books presented by the London Missionary Society: —B. Hall, Elsie Alderson, Amy Hastie, Flossie Alexander, Irene Smith, Eileen McDowall, Beryl Pringlo Lily Hardie, Hilda Brougham, Lulu McFetrish, Hilda Toms, Ida Alexander, May Toms, Ruby Hocking, Raymond Stout, Leslie Blackburn, Ernest Baker, and Leslie Bryant. At the close of the meeting hearty thanks were expressed to Mr Wingate, and those who assisted him in the orchestra, for the great help rendered in the singing both on Sunday and the present occasion:'..
