Following are the concluding events of the coursing meeting held yester.lny on the Sports Association ground. Supplementary State—First dog £5, second dog £1. "

Second Round—House Girl beat Port Arthur, The Ganger a bye. Final—The Ganger beat House Girl and won the stake.

Local Stake—First deg £7, second dog £3, third dog £2. Second Bound—Madame Melba beat Rival, Marquis beat Maximum, Nobleman beat Fanny Deleliia, Rivalry a bye. Third Round—Marquis beat Madame Melba, Nobleman beat Rivalry. Final—Marquis beat Nobleman by 8 points to 4. Rivalry was third. The final in the Open Stake produced one of the best courses yet witnessed on the grounds. It was contested by Lord Cardigan and by Queen of Clubs, the former being a particularly hot favourite, while the latter was, comparatively, neglected. A strong hare was slipped and most interesting sport followed; At first Lord Cardigan, with his tremendous burst of speed, put in all the work, as he had led up to the hare, but tiring visibly as pussy kept both hounds going at top, the black slut got in and lasting well defeated what was regarded as a certain winner by 14 points to 9. The unexpected result was received with cheers from the crowd, who thoroughly appreciated the game manner in which the winner had stuck to her redoubtable opponent, who, however, did not display the form shown at Masterton recently when he defeated Queen of Clubs.

In the evening visitors to the meeting were entertained at the . Empire Hotel, where a most enjoyable time was spent. Eulogistic reference was made during -the evening by several visitors to • the excellent manner in which the meeting had been conducted. Several toasts were proposed and songs were contributed by Messrs Barford, Hankins, M. Taylor, Dr Peach, Rickards and Hutclnnson.
