Coursing.

The weather cleared up beautifully yesterday afternoon, and the attendance at the coursing meeting visibly improved, large numbers of the fair sex putting in an appearance after lunch. Sport throughout the afternoon was most in teresting, several good runs being witnessed, while one of two good things went down before less fancied opponcuts. In one of these, the Sweet Tone—Recovery course, tbe judge's decision in favor of the former dog did not meet with popular approval, and for some time matters were somewhat at a tension. Mr Mitchell, the judge, explained to the members of the club's executive his reasons for placing Sweet Tone first. They were not, however, satisfactory to the trainer interested and he promptly scratched all dogs he had in the evfct. " _ As stated yesterday the club's executive were indefatigable in their attention to business, and the sport progressed without the slightest hitch, bar the unfortunate contretemps alluded to. Catering arrangements were entrusted by tho club to Mr_ F. Brough, and he provided patrons with a most excellent" lunch. Appended are details of the concluding runs for the day :— Second round Kitty beat Clements, Defiance beat Nobleman, Lord Cardigan beat The Marquis, Queen of Clubs beat The Czar, Sweet Tone beat Recovery, Panama a bye. t T^ d ,round —Kitty beat Defiance, Lord Cardigan beat Sweet Tone, Queen of Clubs a bye.
