Education Board.

The regular meeting of the above was held last night. All the members were present. Mr G. S. Bridge was reelected chairman.

Resignations accepted—L. M. Mahoney, Makotuku; S. E. Barker, Hawera.

Appointments agreed—C. C. Hills, Euahine ; Miss Tuffin, Glenoroua; J. K. Edie, Eltham ; Miss 0. Dorset, Rewa; Miss Rockell, Livingstone. Mr Stanton, of Upper Pohangina, attended to ask that the Komako school, which was unoccupied, should be removed to Mr Harrison's property, Coal Creek, where ten to twelve children would attend at once, in addition to four who would be there after Christ= mas.—On Mr Lethbridge's motion it was decided to comply with the request, and the matter was loft in the hands of the Chairman.

Plans of a. building to replace the Foxton School were laid before the Board, and on Mr Pirani's motion, seconded by Mr Fraser, it was decided to invite tenders for the work and to ask the Minister for Education to receive a deputation from the Board, from residents of Foxton, and tho member for the district in reference to the matter.

It was decided to agree to a suggestion from the Campbell-street School Committee to invite tenders for school furniture at Palmerston. as well as Wanganui. Mr Pirani's report on the Ridge Road School was adopted, aud it was decided to call it the Tararua Sohool.

Messrs Pirani, Lsthbridge, and the Chief Inspector were appointed to represent the Board at the Conference of Education Boards at Wellington next month.

Mr Pirani was appointed to lepresent the Board at Wellington in connection with the University Reserves Bill if | nessary. Mrs Brown was appointed to instruct teachers in singing at Palmerston North. The name of the Lower Taonui school was alter to " Newberry," the postal address. The request of the Palmerston. High School Board that the Chief Inspector be allowed to arrange for the examination, of the High School was acceded to.

Permission was given, at the request of the Chief Inspector, to hold an exhibition of work done under the Manual and Technical School Art towards tho end of the year.
