Football and Hockey.
To-morrow afternoon will witness plenty of excitement on the Show grounds when hockey and football will both be catered for in best form. At 1.30 the Wairarapa representatives will meet Manawatu in what promises to be the most keenly contested game seen this season. At 3 p.m. football will be played on No. 1 ground, when the Awahou team from Foxton will endeavour to wrest the Hankins Shield from the C.S. Old Boys. By terms of their affiliation with the Manawatu Union the winners of the Foxton championship have to play off with the winners of this end of the district, so something unusually good should eventuate when the two #hanipion teams meet to-morrow. • The competition for the junior championship has been very keen this season, and the final now lays between Pabnerston and Feilding. This match will be played on No. 2 ground to-morrow afternoon, and a genuine good go for the Broomo Shield should result. The following Saturday Manawatu meet Hawke's Bay] in the representative fixture.
