MELBOURNE, This 3ay,
No official intelligence has yet been received about the loss on the Pacific cable for the year, but English papers state it at £88,000. Sir H. Tozer, a member of the Cable Board, who has been inquiring into matters connected with the Pacific cable while visiting Australia, has come to the conclusion that the loss can only be lessened by pushing business in Australia and " elsewhere served by the cable.
