"THE TICKET."
The electors will be interested to learn that the following were the questions upon which members of the Ticket for the Borough election were requested by the Selection Committee to express their opinions:— 1. Water service. 2. Eiver protection. 3. Beautifying Society. 4. Improved method of repairing roads (road grader). 5. Extension of footpaths. 6. Ec-organisation of Borough employees. 7. Reserves. 8. Restriction of heavy cartage in winter. 9. Borough baths. 10. Strengthening of Fitzherbert bridge. 11. Erection of names of streets and numbering of houses. 12. Are you in favour of any variation of the present Borough regulations in reference to the construction and | formation of new roads and streets. j As stated in last evening's issue, the question of the erection of abattoirs—a matter materially affecting the public health—has been omitted from the above ' list. The purchase of a site has not been completed, no provision has been made for the erection of buildings, and unless the electors are careful a new Council may come into office which will burk the erection of abattoirs and continue the present system. We advise the electors to give the matter their earnest consideration. The question, " are you in favour of any variation of the present Borough regulations in reference to the construction and formation of new roads and streets " will also attract attention. Is there a general desire to have the regulations modified ?
