Flaxmillers' Association.
The New Zealand Flaxmillers' Association held a special meeting at the Koval Hotel yesterday afternoon. Mr G. Simpson, of Foxton, occupied the chair and there was a good attendance Advice was received that the conference of millers, merchants and graders would be held at the Chamber of Commerce, Wellington on March 31st. Delegates wouid be present from all Associations in New Zsaland.
The followingresolutions outlining the course of action to be followed at the Conference, were then passed :— " That the delegates from this Association meet the delegates from the other millers' associations in Wellington before the Conference to arrange a common line of action m regard to grading."
" That in the event of any miller feeling aggrieved at the points awarded by graders, some fair system be instituted giving him the option of protesting on depositing a sufficient sum to ensure good faith, and that such protest be adjudicated upon by some expert appointed by Government."
"That the division of grading qualities be altered as follows :—Superior 100-95, fine 94-85, g.f.a.q. 84-75, f.a.q.. 74-65, common 64 55, very inferior 54 and under."
" That two bales of bemp of lower points in each grade, showing points chosen by the committee appointed by the conference, be deposited at each of the parte of export in the colony and that similar bales be forwarded to Loudon as samples and guides for the graders, millers and merchaats."
