The attendance includes the Governor and party, and a goodly number of legislators. Following are results ;•—-: Hurdles.—Killarneyl, Defoe 2, Jeanne D'Aibret B. Only starters. Won very easily by eiirht lengths. Time— .3min.- 242 : 5 th sees:-. Dividend,, £1 155., Short's Handicap—Solutioni,Bounce 2, Gold Dredge 3. Scratched: Ballarat, Matuku," Gold Crown and The. Stake. Solution hopped off with the lead and held it all the way, winning by half a length, a length between second and third. Time, lmin 3 3-osec. Divs, £2 4s and £1 13s. .
Wellington Handicap — Tercclet 1, Mahutonga 2, Convoy 3. Scratched: Submarine.'. Tercelet''was in the lead passing.the stand and was never dis.placed, winning, by a. length and, a .half, Mahutonga and Convoy made a forward move rounding the bend into the" straight but could not get on terms, with the; leader, the former gaming second place by half a length. Time, 2min 11 4-osec. Divs., 12s and 18s.
