Bros, were the; most:-successful exhibitors, coming first with five firsts' and one second, D; McLean having three firsts, six seconds, arid six thirds, while Nelson Bros, had one first and one second. The points prize, however, fell to D. McLean with. 8S points' against Perry 8r05.'34.
There was -keen' competition in the Romriey classes. E. Short secured three' firsts, one second, one. third, and one v.h.c. \ G. C. Wheeler.secured first and championship for ewe; three seconds, two thirds and one v.h.c. F. Hutchinson and Son secured first and championship for ram, six seconds;, one third, and one y.h.c. J. 0. Batchelar secured three firsts, two thirds and-one v.h.c. The points prize fell to Hutchinson and Son with 29 points, Short being second with 25, Wheeler and Batchelar equal. for third place with 23.
Dairy Cattle: For crossbred dairy heifer, yearling, S. R. Lancaster's Young Hutt was first and Slack Bros.' second. For dairy heifer, under two years, Slack Bros, was first and A. Buchanan second. In fat cattle, D. McLean secured'firsts in both classes. - ■ ■-■.•• Tn dogs, S.R: Lancaster's smooth-; coated collie dog, Laddie, secured second prize. In thoroughbred . horses J. D." Ormond's Dreadnought was awarded first and G. P. Donnelly's Gold Reef second. In the class for four years and over in ponies D. McLean's Eclipse was first for entire under ■■ 14rV hands. For mare under 14^ hands H. A. Russell's Olivette was first. For pony 18 and not exceeding 14 hands-Miss Dl Pilmer's Tim was. first, Miss E. Gordon's Bunny second, Miss G. Smith's Dinah third, and. Miss Ina Gillies' Ivy fourth. Pony between 12 and 13 hands: Miss D. Waterhouse's First Water 1, Alex Browne's Okey-pokey fourth. Pony over 11 and under 12 hands: Master David Simmonds' King Dick 1. Riding, boys: Master Alex. Browne. In poultry, S.. W. Luxford secured first for golden Wyahdotte cock, third, for golden Wyandotte cockerel, second for silver Wyandctte hen, and first for silver Wyandotte pullet. Chas. Pickering was first and second for cock and cockerel in Partridge Wyandotte and first and second for hen and pullet in Partridge Wyandotte. . Points prizes: Cattle, Archdeacon Williams, Te Aute.. Sheep: Lincol.ns, Hon. J. D. Ormond, Hastings; Bolder Leicester, Southdown ■ and Crbssbfeds, ■ Nelson-Bros., Hastings.; English. Leices-, ter,,, Shropshire. Downs v and fat sheep, R.-D. D. Under the heading of any other variety of boar, a Devon shown by J. Jar- j vis, secured honours. Mrs Taranaki won the points prize for native exhibits. . . !
