Bowling.
Opening of the Season*
The local bowling green will be opened by the President to-morrow. The usual photograph will be taken, after which a game will be played between the President's and vice-President's teams.
The Pahiatua Club has written stating that they will be represented at the opening ceremony. The greens were being prepared for play to-day, n,nd, provided the weather is fine,.a capital afternoon's -..bowling;. will, result.
The ladies will dispense afternoon-tea to bowlers and their friends. ■"■
The contractor, who is erecting the new iron fence round the ground, expects to complete his work to-morrow morning. -;
