New Zealand one ■ or more State maternity hospitals where pupil nurses can,- on "payment of a fee be Z carqlA-Uy. instructcld in\" all the duties required for the welfare of mother- and infant during^and 'inlinediately after child-birth/"*■-.■.•. I Every district health officer will bo a local supervisor over tho midwives ii\ Iris district, and shall have power .to temporarily suspend any midwife^ and investigate charges of malpractico > ncgligGiico, etc-• After lst July, 1906, no woman not registered under the Act shall practice as. a midwife.' • Misrepresentation to obtain a certificate is. punishable by"., twelve months' imprisonment.
