A. wire from Blenheim states that, heaty rain baa caused the highest flood experienced In tbat district for years, A conFiderable area of northern Blenheim district is under water but the town so far is dry. Boad *nd railway communication betwees Blenheim and Pict«n is interrupted by a washout on the rail way line.
Phenomenal floods have occurred in the Pelorus and Wakamarina rivers. The Pelorus Valley is completely submerged. A serious loss of live stock is eared. ' .
The Nelson coach which left Blenheim this morning without passengers was overturned by a flood near the Wi irau bridge. Two horses were drowned. The driver, George Bichardpon is missing, and if; is supposed ihp-t he, also, is drowned.
